Pike Place Market

Had some fun at Pike Place Market in Seattle. This place is like stepping back into another time. Everyone was friendly and wanted to have a conversation about something. Spoke with some of the fishermen and local artists. Can't really beat that. Nowadays this scene is a rarity.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Fall Away

Goodness, I've been out for a while! Those who know me closely understand that the last month or so has been a bit tumultuous for me. My Grandma Rhonda passed away and it was devastating. However, I know she is smiling down on me and loving all these pictures I've been taking.

She was an artist herself. She was a master crochet grannie. It sounds cliche, but she definitely was not. I don't know how she made some of her creations. She would make intricate designs for doll dresses that had tiny stitching with bead work in between. Had she been more business savvy, I believe she could have turned her amazing work into a boutique one-of-kind business. But she didn't care about that. She truly enjoyed the peace of creating such beautiful pieces. I have several of her masterpieces around my house and find comfort in having them near.

Here's to Grandma Rhonda! As I create I will always remember how she found joy in creating too!

Dr. Suess Land

Hi All!

It's been over a week since the Front Range was blasted with Mr. Winter - even though it was only October! Within a day the autumn sights quickly turned into Dr. Suess land. Huge, wet snow covered everything in sight - in Boulder alone, we received 23" inches in 2 days. Stepping outside reminded me of Dr. Suess illustrations - everything looked like a big bubble of snow. . . what do you think? Here are some pictures to enjoy. Dr. Suess land has returned back to normal with that saturated, blue fall sky again. Above are pictures of our back deck and Joey (the best snow shoveler ever). Joey's hat accumulated some inches just in the short time he was out clearing the paths.

I'm just glad we got some early snow to cover those mountains and I'm so ready to get my skis on!

See ya'll there!

This image "Peak Through" was taken on our way back from the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. The scenery reminds me a lot of my Papaw - he was a true cowboy! He belonged to the Sheriff's posse in El Paso and you rarely saw him without his wrangler's and cowboy hat. I miss him so much, but this picture reminds me of his spirit and that he is always with me. Love you Papaw!

Fun Prints for a Worthy Cause

Happy autumnal equinox 2009! I love fall - the colors, the smell, that crazy change in weather! To celebrate, I have decided that this is a perfect time to introduce my fun art prints!

One of our dear, good friends, Nick Seaman, needs our help more than ever. Nick was diagnosed with testicular cancer back in March and has been fighting like mad. He is in great hands with Dr. Einhorn and his incredible team at Clarian Health - Indiana Hospital. However, great care comes with a hefty price tag. So, I decided that from now until October 31st 50% of the proceeds from my "fun art prints" will be donated to Nick and his family. Wish him luck as he is off for surgery next week!

My prints are ideal for adding some flavor to that boring room in your house or as the perfect gift. I decided to take pictures for my own home because Cost Plus can only make soooo many generic prints, right? Now you can mix and match from my collection of prints for a very unique design that cannot be found anywhere else. The best part is that my prints are EXTREMELY reasonable!

Featured Design Ideas:

Also, black and white and sepia versions are available. And if you order 3 prints or more I'll give you 10% off! If you plan to order please let me know so I can advise on the best cropping options and answer any questions you might have! Can't wait to hear form you!

Party Time

I was hired to capture Bonnie and Steve's "Casino Night" to celebrate their birthdays. It was a blast! First I took some shots of their adorable family. The first picture is with their daughter and gorgeous cake! I love how the sun hits their faces here.... adds I nice glow to the pic. By the way, this cake was insanely cool. It was Vegas themed with glitter, bright colors and 3D objects all over!

After the kids went home it was adult time! After a few cocktails the party was off! It's so great to see friends come together and reconnect. The ladies talking to each other and the guys catching up as well. The next picture illustrates how the girls were representing! It was awesome to see everyone come together and smile!

Of course I had to capture the crowd, but I believe the point and shoot of a crowd can be boring. Others shots need to be incorporated to capture the feel of the night. The last picture shows just that. You get the crowd in the background and the flavor in front - Vegas!!

Great night, fun people and a dance floor. . . Now that's a party!

Thanks to Bonnie and Steve for letting me shoot their night!
